Rob Carvalho is an artist I've been following for a while now. After striking up conversation via twitter and learning he is from the same city as me- Birmingham, UK-we have kept in touch. The singer/songwriter/instrumentalist, whose sound is slightly reminiscent of Maxi Priest, who has released a handful of tracks on various indie labels and is now gearing up to release his debut album, All The Things You Know To Be True, this summer. However, Carvalho is not a man to rest on his laurels, and he has a whole host of collaborations with a variety of producers due to drop this year as well, covering soul, Latin, jazz, house and reggae
As taken from the blog, Talent In Borders:
Musician, Robert Carvalho, who infuses jazz tempos, funk, soul, and smooth R &B, is a sensation to behold. His song, 'Sticky,' is especially derivative of the silky, feel-good vibe one gets when listening to. It places you on a tropical paradise and lounging about, and enjoying the moment. It's a great thing when music sets the tone and allows you to enjoy it. That's what Robert's music does; it fuels the emotion of hanging back, relaxing and taking it easy. Not only are there softer tunes with Carvalho, there are also upbeat, dance tempo tunes to get into the groove with. His music transcends many eclectic elements and keeps you entranced. His voice is superb and transitions from soft to fast tempo exceptionally well. Carvalho is based in Birmingham, UK and has been featured on BBC, BlogTalk Radio via Talking Smooth Jazz, among several other media outlets. His music is favorably regarded, and great things are said about his artistry and musical skills.
